In a recent interview with Pasella, iPOP Alum Vian Singleton discusses his star-turning role on 7de Laan and the road that led him there.
A growing celebrity in South Africa, Vian Singleton has kept busy in the spotlight since attending iPOP. In a recent interview with the South African Lifestyle show Pasella, Vian discussed his star-turning role on the hit SA show 7de Laan and his early interest in acting that led to his current success
In the interview, Vian gives a walk-through of his day to day on set and how he balances his budding career with continued studies in school. It was after winning Best Performer in a Feature Role for the BroadwayWorld play Fiela se Kind that Vian went on to star in the South African soap opera, 7de Laan and lead efforts on a well-received anti-bullying campaign.
While viewers had the opportunity to learn more about Vian’s life today, he also took time to share on his early childhood and how attending and receiving accolades at iPOP! LA further cemented his determination to succeed in the entertainment industry. When asked about his time at iPOP, Vian shared this with the reporter:
“I went to L.A. with the organization iPOP in Hollywood. My eyes were big seeing all these sleek cars and so on… the competition was about dancers, singers and actors. I won junior actor of the year…and model of the year. A nice shock! Many South African’s did very well. South Africans are spontaneous and sincere. I think the judges liked that.”
In his role as Thomas on 7de Laan, the U.S. equivalent to Days of Our Lives, Vian gets to shed a light on current issues that teenagers face today. It is because of his on-screen depiction that Vian has become a role model to a great deal of South African youth.
