iPOP Alum Pierson Fode’s Upcoming Feature ‘The Man From Toronto’ To Land on Netflix

iPOP Alumni Pierson Fode’s upcoming Sony feature, ‘The Man From Toronto’, will soon be heading to Netflix. Per Deadline, the streaming giant has purchased distribution rights for the film, which also stars Kevin Hart, Woody Harrelson, and Kaley Cuoco. Director Patrick Hughes helms the action-comedy.

A story by Robbie Fox and Jason Blumenthal, Fox and Chris Bremner wrote the script for the feature. The film follows the world’s deadliest assassin and “New York’s biggest screw-up” as they team up to save the day after running into each other in a rented Airbnb. Producing the film is Blumenthal, Oscar winner Steve Tisch and Escape Artists’ Todd Black. Bill Bannerman will serve as an executive producer on the project.

The film previously scheduled for release in theaters on August 12 will now bow on the streamer in all territories apart from China (where Sony continues to control all rights) later this year. Sony will also retain home entertainment and linear TV windows.

Pierson Fode began his rise to fame after attending iPOP!, the LA-based bi-annual talent event. His success continued with an acclaimed role on ‘The Bold and the Beautiful’, which earned him two Daytime Emmy nominations. Pierson has also starred in other hits like ‘Naomi and Ely’s No Kiss List’, ‘Jessie’, and ‘Dynasty’. He will next be seen in ‘Reboot Camp’.

Pierson is currently repped by Innovative, Strategic, Zero Gravity and Gang, Tyre, Ramer, Brown & Passman.
